Solo Project
Duration
3 Months
The current website is hard to navigate because of too much information on each page, unclear organization, and not enough color contrast. It is also overwhelmed with excessive text and lists.
Problem
Current Website Pages

The Solution
Improve the NYC Parks website by redesigning it with a clearer hierarchy and efficient information distribution so that anyone who visits the website can easily navigate it.
For You:
Personalized
feed
of curated activities
Personalized feed updated according
to the user's lifestyle patterns, presenting alternatives aligned with their preferences.

Landing Page
This is the landing page where a story is told and new activities are discovered. I created a symbol set that represents the story.

Design Goals
Streamlined Navigation
Improved information grouping and organization will offer users a clearer path, helping them to expect what comes next.
Focused on Storytelling
Elevating visual elements will make each park distinctive, encouraging users to extend their exploration and engagement.
Legible System
To solve the issue of lengthy lists, a redesigned layout and a new system can highlight information more effectively.
Changing Seasons
Since one of the unique aspects of NYC parks is the changing of the seasons, I selected colors inspired by the various seasonal appearances of NYC parks.
